Rebuilding a municipal brand


In 2009 we were engaged to redesign the Rocky View County logo and deploy the new brand across all touchpoints.

On the eve of launch, a serious illness sidelined the County’s Communications Director. We stayed the course for an additional year to provide interim support.

Recovering from a critical event


When the wildfires of 2011 devastated the MD of Lesser Slave River, we helped them build a better communications framework from the ground up.

We continue to work with the MD to keep their constituents engaged, informed and safe.

How are we different?

Most vendors will deliver on one-off projects and ride off into the sunset, leaving your team to populate and manage the shiny, expensive new thing you just bought. We deliver consistent value at a known cost by meeting your needs on an ongoing basis. We’ll give you a flat-fee budget and a year-at-a-glance communications schedule. And we won’t leave you hanging.

What does it cost?

You can engage Tangent Civic for a specific project like a website or public engagement piece. You can also subscribe to the level of ongoing service your organization requires. Typically, the term of engagement is one year. At the end of the term, you can choose to keep the services ongoing, modify the engagement, or cancel services altogether. In the event of cancellation, all assets developed to that point will be turned over and we will assist in
Migrating you to another service provider.

What can I save?

With our capped-rate retainers, costs are amortized over the course of the engagement rather than invested up front. Our goal is to provide a consistent service level within a known budget, which allows us to remain engaged and responsive to your needs — usually on a daily basis. In addition to having a known communications spend each month, our amortized rate is less than our per-project fees.
